Election in Rivers, Credible - PDP

...Denies Allegations of Violence Against Its Members
 ...Rejects Call for Cancellation
...Says APC'S Attempt To Disrupt Polls By Burning Down Houses, Shooting Failed
...As PDP Wins In All Units

The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP says the conduct of the Presidential and national Assembly election in the State on Saturday was credible and the result reflects the overwhelming acceptability of President GoodLuck Jonathan and candidates of the party by the electorates in the State.
The State Chairman of the PDP, Bro Felix Obuah made the assertion in a Statement in Port Harcourt and made available to journalists.
He condemned in strong terms the resort to violence and falsehood by members of the All Progressives Congress, APC and vehemently denies allegations of violence levelled against members of the PDP.
The PDP also rejects call for cancellation of Saturday's election in Rivers State.
The PDP insists elections were conducted peacefully and creditably in all units of Rivers State.
The State Chapter of the PDP describes allegation that results were written in some private homes and hotels as untrue and misleading.
The PDP also deny allegation that its members were engaged by INEC as Presiding, Returning and other officers of the elections.
The party said allegations of violence against its members were diversionary and orchestrated by the APC to disrupt the election, when it became clear to members of the APC in Rivers State that PDP would win.
In Gokana Local Government Area, of the State, armed members of the APC in Bera, home town of Senator Magnus Abe and Chief Victor Giadom, APC Governorship Candidate Campaign Director General, acting on the instructions of their leaders, went to the home of one of the PDP stalwarts and the former PDP Governorship Aspirant, Hon Dumbari Ben-Dimkpa, also from Bera and burnt down his house. They also set ablaze all his cars, went to his filling station, also in Bera and destroyed all the pumps and other properties.
The Chairman, Caretaker committee of Khana Local Government Council, Mr Derek Mene in company of armed APC boys also unleashed mayhem in the area.
In Ogbakiri, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Governor Amaechi's Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr Emma Chinda with armed APC boys shot sporadically and attempted to hijacked the election materials.
In Uzouba on Saturday, security details attached to Governor Amaechi shot and killed a PDP member.
Amaechi in Ubima, Ikwerre LGA against the electoral law forcefully wanted to stop the election.
Amaechi is known for making false alarm, misleading and inciting comments.
Same report to disrupt the elections by armed members of the APC was received in all most all the Local Government Areas of Rivers State.
The PDP had earlier issued a statement alleging attempts by Governor Amaechi and the APC to disrupt the elections. To execute the plan, Amaechi released cultists, kidnappers and other criminals who were under trial and armed them for the elections, with an order to the deliver the APC and stir up crisis in unfriendly areas.
The gallantry of police officers on election duty averted the situation in Rivers State and paved way for a peaceful, free and fair election in all Units in all local government areas in the State.
As we await INEC official declaration of reaults, reports show that the PDP is winning in all the units in all the wards of all the Local Government Areas of the Rivers State.
