2. A fresh report has it that the PDP has been 
displaced in Niger State as the All Progressives Congress governorship 
candidate in the state, Alh Abubakar Bello, has been officially declared
 winner of the governorship election in the state. 
The Returning 
Officer, Prof. Abdulganiu Ambali Bello, announced that Bello polled 
593,702 votes to defeat Alh. Umar Nasko of the Peoples Democratic Party,
 who polled 239,772 votes. The APC governorship candidate emerge 
victorious in 23 of the 25 local government areas as announced by INEC.

 The All Progressives Congress Governorship candidate in Plateau State, 
Simon Lalong, has been declared winner of the governorship election in 
the state. Lalong polled 537,050 votes to beat the Peoples Democratic 
Party’s candidate , Senator Gyang Pwajok, who secured 501,938 votes. 
With this development, the Peoples Democratic Party has now been 
displaced in the state.
4. Although, governor Rochas Okorocha of the All Progressives 
Congress, APC, may be leading Emeka Ihedioha in Imo State’s governorship
 elections, the Returning Officer in the state has declared the election
 inconclusive following irregularities noticed in some areas. The result
 announced by the Returning Officer, Prof. Oye Ibidapo-Obe, shows that 
Okorocha polled 385,071 votes, while Ihedioha, got 306,142 votes. A 
supplementary election is expected to hold soon in the state.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, has won the 
Sokoto State governorship election under the umbrella of the All 
Progressives Congress, APC. Tambuwal polled 647,609 votes to defeat 
Senator Abdallah Wali of the PDP who polled 269,074.

 The Independent National Electoral Commission has advised aggrieved 
politicians who feel cheated in Saturday’s elections across different 
states in the country to approach the election petition tribunals. This 
advice was contained in a statement by the commission issued on Sunday.

 Political ‘Tsunami’ appears to have taken over different PDP controlled
 states as the APC continues to conquer them. The trend is not different
 in Kaduna State as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC,
 Malam Nasir el-Rufai defeated Governor Mukhtar Yero of the PDP and 13 
other candidates to win the state’s governorship election. The Returning
 Officer for the state, Prof. Jafar Kaura, announced that el-Rufai 
polled 1, 117, 635 votes to defeat the state governor, who secured 485, 
833 votes.
8. The cancellation of the governorship elections in three local 
government areas of Abia State was yesterday reversed by the The state 
Returning Officer, who is also the Vice Chancellor, University of 
Nigeria, Nsukka, Prof. Benjamin Ozumba after the state governor, 
Theodore Orji and other PDP stalwarts stormed the venue of the collation
 centre, asking the Returning Officer to reverse his decision. The 
affected local government areas, whose results were earlier cancelled 
because of malpractices and other electoral issues include Isiala-Ngwa 
North, Osisioma and Obimgwa.
9. Following alleged irregularities 
and violence, the All Progressives Congress, APC, All Progressives Grand
 Alliance, APGA and the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Rivers State 
have called for the cancellation of the governorship and House of 
Assembly elections in the state. Their call was contained in a joint 
press briefing held in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
10. Lagos State has finally broken the jinx of being in the opposition 
as the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, 
Akinwumi Ambode defeated his closest rival, Jimi Agbaje in Saturday’s 
governorship election in the state. Results released by the Independent 
National Electoral Commission, INEC, show that Ambode won 14 out of the 
20 local government areas in the state.
