Fighting Fayose is like battling the wind – Governor’s aide tells Ekiti APC lawmakers

Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka has told the factional Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Dr Adewale Omirin and his All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers to desist from their voyage of self-destruction, saying; “fighting against Governor Ayodele Fayose is like fighting against the wind.”

The governor’s aide, who was reacting to claim by the APC lawmakers that there was plan by Governor Fayose and himself to kidnap them and members of their families, added that; “the APC lawmakers must have concluded plans to kidnap themselves or their own children and blame it on the governor.”
He said; “Having reached a dead and confused end in their Governor Fayose’s impeachment project, the APC lawmakers might have concluded arrangements to use phoney kidnap of themselves and some of their children to heighten tension in the State.”
Olayinka, who called on security agencies in the country and all Nigerians to be mindful of this plot by the APC, noted that; “Between 2008 and 2010, these same elements in the APC used organised armed robbery and kidnapping to discredit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government government of Engr Segun Oni.
“Charles Ojo Ovie, the head of the terror gang used to perpetrate criminal acts, including murder of three officers of the State Anti Robbery Squad and kidnap of the Attah of Aiyede Ekiti, Oba Adeleye Orisagbemi; Provost of the College of Education, Ikere Ekiti, among others was linked with chieftains of the APC.
“Also, their ring leader, Senator Babafemi Ojudu set fire on a small hut in front of his house along Iworoko road, Ado Ekiti and went to town, claiming that Engr Segun Oni sent thugs to raze down his whole house.
“Therefore, if they are alleging plot to kidnap them and members of their families now, Nigerians should know that they are up to something sinister and that could be kidnapping themselves or members of their families by themselves and blaming it on Governor Fayose so as to regain their lost public sympathy and discredit the governor.”
Speaking further, the governor’s aide wondered why using the Facebook to inform the public on the sinister movements and plots of the APC lawmakers should amount to threat to kidnap them.
He said; “Omirin and his co-jesters should rather seek forgiveness from God and Ekiti people who now see them as enemies of the State.
“When you shunned peace meeting called by Ekiti elders and attended by such personalities like Aare Afe Babalola (SAN), Chief Ayo Ogunlade, Chief Deji Faduan, Dr Kunle Olajide and others, you are simply saying that Ekiti and its people do not mean anything to you.
“When you claimed on Wednesday that Governor Fayose planned to arrest you and three days after, you claimed that the same governor planned to kidnap you, what you are simply demonstrating is how confused you have become and the state at which your mind has demented. “Omirin and his APC lawmakers should therefore desist from fighting against the wind because when you engage in a fight against the wind, you fight from all directions, your defeat will come from all directions and it will be total and fatal”.
