Card Reader Failure: Buhari Warns Against Elections Cancellation

Presidential Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, General Mohammadu Buhari has warned of an cancellation of the on-going elections, following hiccups with the Card Readers.

Buhari at a press conference after casting his vote in Daura, his home town in Kastina State, said it will be unfair if anyone contemplates the cancellation of the poll. The APC Presidential candidate said the hiccups experienced with the card readers was only minor and not enough for the polls to be cancelled. He argued that what happened in five states could not presumably said to have affected 31 other states in the country.
It would be recalled that President Goodluck Jonathan spent almost an hour trying to get accredited. Four Card readers failed. It took the intervention of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega for the President to be accredited manually. The Card Readers failure affected voting processes in most part of the country.
