Ambode’s rally: Oba of Lagos allegedly orders Idumota Market to be shut down


Hundreds of shop owners, especially Igbos, were yesterday forced to shut-down their shops at the Idumota Market, Lagos Island and ordered to attend a rally in honour of All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate in Lagos, Akinwunmi AmbodeThis is coming at a time the Lagos monarch is under heavy criticism for threatening to deal with Igbo residents in Lagos if they did not vote for Ambode on Saturday.

Muazu admits PDP was ‘humbled’ by presidential election loss

DMX Accused of Robbery by Newark Man, Police Say




Attorney Murray Richman tells Us Weekly the robbery allegation is "completely untrue," and that DMX obliged the men's request to take a picture with him. He further claims that the alleged victims offered the rapper drugs. "It's nonsense," he says of the robbery story, adding that DMX (real name Earl Simmons) "didn't rob" anyone. "Earl makes enough money," Richman tells Us. "He's doing very very well. What the heck did they make these allegations for?"
DMX and his entourage have been accused of robbery by a man in Newark, N.J., multiple news outlets reported on Sunday, April 5, and Monday, April 6. According to the reports, no charges have been filed against the rapper, but police are investigating the man's claims.

African Leaders To Hold Summit Over Boko Haram On 8th Of April

African leaders from West and Central Africa will be meeting in Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday April 8th, to discuss on ways to combat the terror group, Boko Haram in the continent.

Post-election violence rages in Rivers

No fewer than eleven persons, including a former Local Government Area chairman and six members of his family, have been killed by unidentified gunmen who invaded Obrikom and Obor communities in Rivers State as post-election violence rages in the state.

It was gathered that the former chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of the State, simply identified as Christopher, and six members of his family, were on Friday night, murdered by unknown persons, when armed bandits invaded Obrikom/Obor communities in the Local Government Area.

Two persons were said to have been wounded in the incident, as gunmen went on shooting spree at about 7:30 pm in the area. It was gathered that the attack was politically motivated.

Meanwhile, a dusk to dawn curfew had been declared by the ONELGA boss.

"Nigerian striker Emmanuel Emenike says he and his Fenerbahce teammates were left in shock after their team bus was shot at by a gunman on Saturday night in Turkey.
The Turkish league leaders were travelling to Trabzon airport to fly back to Istanbul, following their 5-1 victory over Rizespor, when the incident occurred.

Jonathan averted Nigeria break- up says Okupe



The Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs,  Dr Doyin Okupe said President Goodluck Jonathan's acceptance of the resulted averted a major crisis.
Okupe on Saturday stressed that he never said if the All Progressives Congress, APC, survived he should be called a bastard.
According to him, what he said was that if they clinch power and survive the next four years, he would change his name.
Okupe, who made the statement via his official Facebook account, was clarifying his stand as people had misconstrued his previous statement.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, who won the contest, in line with pre-election prognosis, was known to have remarkably deflated the current state of many key sectors during his campaigns.
That informed his vow to prioritize many areas that have become increasingly important to the electorate.
Retrospectively, the areas Buhari, who received substantial jabs from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the days leading to the poll, promised to focus on include: Security, education, unemployment, economy, health care, social security, infrastructure, energy, environment, human capital development, politics and governance.
A breakdown showed the then presidential hopeful being specific on how some of these sectors would be fixed within time frame, while time line was not attached to others.
